Current Projects
Healthy and Positive Engagement Education (HAPEE) Project.

The aim of this project is to implement a sexual risk avoidance education evidence-based curriculum, predominantly among students 14-16 years from 9th and 10th grades. Its purpose is to teach youth strategies to how voluntarily refraining from non-marital sexual activity and achieve positive outcomes in their lives. Outcomes will be compared with students from other municipalities with similar characteristics.

Substance Abuse and HIV Prevention Navigator Program for Hispanic and Latinos Ages 13-24 years.

The purpose is to achieve the vision of eradicating HIV infection and reducing substance use disorders. The goal is to provide services to those at highest risk for HIV and substance use disorders by using a navigation approach to expedite services for Hispanic individuals 13-24 years. The program will provide training and education around the risks of substance misuse, provide education on HIV/AIDS, and provide needed linkages to service provision for individuals with HIV in the municipality of San Juan, Puerto Rico.
