Dr. Inyushin studies the regulation of transporters located in astrocytes that control the excess/lack of some vitally important neuroamines. Dr. Inyushin uses patch-clamp electrophysiology methods combined with live imaging and confocal imaging to study the activity and the distribution of transporters in astrocytes. Combining different approaches Dr. Inyushin hopes to understand the pathways and processes of uptake control in astrocytes, and the methods to influence them. Students will be involved in the characterization of various transporter mechanisms in astrocytes from brain slices.
