UCC’s Emergency Response Training Center delivers standardized and custom-made trainings on emergency response and medical care to healthcare providers and lay rescuers in Puerto Rico.
We are an authorized American Heart Association training center for all community Heartsaver™ CPR and first aid courses and healthcare provider BLS, ACLS and PALS.
Our qualified instructors adhere to all AHA standards.
Besides certifying all UCC students in CPR, the ERTC hosts more than 40 active instructors, certifying over 6,000 participants every year.
The ERTC is both a leader and team player in the Puerto Rican emergency cardiovascular care training network, helping to certify new instructors year-round and providing daily support to meet all of our instructor’s needs.

The ERTC is located at the UCC’s School of Medicine. Our administrative office is at the Deanship of Medicine. Office hours are 8:00am – 5:00pm. Courses are offered during day hgours, inspecificcases at night hours or weekends. Our instructors are able to offer any of our trainings at your own location, or at our facilities, at no extra charge.
