Acupuncture

Is the branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine, natural, safe and effective which is used to prevent and treat illnesses, this is done with the purpose of reaching a better quality of life.  It was developed by the Chinese more than 5,000 years ago and is based on the capacity of the body to regenerate and cure itself by means of stimuli produced by the insertion and manipulation of needless or other instrumentals in specific points of the skin.  Such points have been clinically defined for therapeutic proposes.

In CUMIC the treatment with acupuncture includes:

Acupuncture: Insertion of needles in specific points.

Auriculotheraphy: treatment carried out by placing needles or seeds in the external ear.

Acupressure:  making pressure in acupunctural points.

Chromo therapy: use of illumination with color as treatment.

Moxibustion: applying heat to different acupuncture points

Electopuncture: uses an external source of energy to apply in the acupuncture treatment.

Scientific Validation: The Food and Drug administration of the United States (FDA) has recognize acupuncture as a secure and effective alternative for the attention of different illnesses. In 1997 the National Institutes of Health in USA declared The Known Declaration of Consensus, validating acupuncture for respiratory conditions, neurological rehabilitation, ophthalmic system sickness, ENT sickness, muscular and skeletal system traumas, gastro intestinal sickness, and others.  Such declaration was endorsed by the American Medical Association.  Many investigations and editorials of acupuncture and Chinese medicine have been published by the Journal of the American Medical Association.

Acupuncture has taken a very important place in the agenda of the traditional scientific community and its practice came to stay.
