The Institute of Research Education and Services of Addiction (IRESA) of the Universidad Central del Caribe, School of Medicine primary purpose is to promote and develop research, education, and services for substance use and other behavioral health disorders in Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands and the Latino communities in the United States. Our purpose is to improve workforce development, disseminate, encourage and conduct the implementation of evidence-based and promising practices, provide program evaluation, and develop research to enhance service delivery for the Hispanic and Latino populations. We endeavor to achieve health equity and access to effective cultural responsiveness approaches.
