Ph.D. Student Wins 3rd Place at Graduate Poster Competition










Yaliz Loperena Álvarez was awarded 3rd Place in The American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB) Graduate Poster Competition at the 2014 ASCB/IFCB Meeting in Philadelphia, PA, which took place on December 6, 2014.

Her research, titled “Ganoderma lucidum decreases the phosphorylation of STAT-3 in vitro and in a xenograft model of SUM-149”, was performed at the UCC Biochemistry Department, under the supervision of Dr. Michelle Martínez. Congratulations to Yaliz and her mentor for their outstanding performance.
