We got our first NSF graduate fellow!


The Universidad Central del Caribe (UCC) congratulates Didiana Cruz, first year student in the Neuroscience PhD program at the UCC School of Medicine, who is recipient of the Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) from the National Science Foundation (NSF). The GRFP is a very competitive program of NSF across the US and support three year of stipend plus tuition. Didiana is on her first year of her PhD program and is currently working at the Dr. Thomas Schikorski’s Lab at the Neuroscience Department. In a brief interruption during Didiana’s labor she said… “I’m very happy and proud in of being the first UCC student to get this type of fellowship and also one of the three recipients in the Island… is a big honor and a big responsibility as well”
