UCC Student Presents Research Project During Hospital HIMA/San Pablo Convention

Astrid E. Gonzalez Ramos, student at the School of Medicine of the Universidad Central del Caribe (UCC), recently presented her research project “Breast Cancer Awareness Among Hispanic Women: A Pilot Study”, during the First Convention of the Hospital HIMA/San Pablo.  This project was realized in collaboration with Elisa Pujals, Vanessa Mendez, and Carolina Acevedo, all students at the UCC.
The research work was selected by the UCC as the best student research project, at the same time winning a financial award and the opportunity for the presentation at the above mentioned convention.

Dr. Olga Rodriguez de Arzola, Dean of Health Sciences and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs; Dr. Omar Esponda, Internal Medicine resident at the UCC; Raymond A. Isidro Vega, first year student of medicine and PhD candidate in Biomedical Sciences; Dr. Carmen Cortes, Hospital HIMA Caguas; Dr. Beverly Di Giorgi, third year Pediatrics resident; Astrid E. Gonzalez Ramos, third year medical student at the UCC; Dr. Jose Ginel Rodriguez, UCC President and Dean of Medicine.

The research work was selected by the UCC as the best student research project.
